The Nigeria Business and Disability Network (NBDN) is an employer led platform building disability confidence of employer, fostering disability inclusion practices and policies in the workplace, as well as job readiness of people with disabilities. 

Disability inclusion makes good business sense. We help create a disability smart business environment by helping employers see how and tap into the potential and capabilities that over 30 million Nigerians with disabilities could bring to increase business revenue, growth and enhance brand reputation.

It is a journey, not a one-off approach. We enable our members through pragmatic support, resources and international best practices that is grounded in the reality of the business and the community it serve. 

Disability Inclusion Champions:

Our members are from diverse sectors – finance, telecoms, FMCG, service, NGOs etc. They are multinationals and national companies operating in Nigeria, at different level of the journey - disability committed, confident and leaders.

NBDN adopted the ILO GBDN Ten (10) principles:

Respect and promotion of rights

Promote and respect the rights of persons with disabilities by raising awareness and combatting stigma and stereotypes faced by persons with disabilities.

Non-discrimination

Develop policies and practices that protect persons with disabilities from all types of discrimination.

Equality of treatment and opportunities

Promote equal treatment and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities by providing reasonable accommodation in the recruitment process, on-the-job, apprenticeships, training, job retention, career development and other relevant terms and conditions of employment.
